The New Year 2007

It does not seem so long ago that we were all worried about the millennium bug, entering the 21st century & watching for planes falling out of the sky. But here we are now, 7 years on, the world the same as ever, yet constantly changing.

For the past 3 NY's, I've felt pretty blase about the whole NY's thing, but in saying that, each time i had gone out, it has been a good time. But it seemed more procedural, matter of fact, something that just had to be done......

This NY's though, was great. We put NO expectations nor emphasis into the night or event, and just wanted to have a small get together and chill. It didnt quite turn out that way, and more people than we expected came, but that was a blessing in disguise. I had a great time chatting and making pizza with friends, then laying out on the porchanda outside watching old movies on the projector.

And when it came to midnight, the event only afforded a mention, a weak smatter of applause, the movie held more precedent for now..... :)

And as our fellow "revellers" started to depart, Mez and I managed to pull an all-nighter, catching the first rays of 2007's sunrise over King's Park. It was quite apparent that we werent the only ones with the idea, but it was a special moment for me nonetheless; sharing the first hours of daylight of 2007 with one very special person in my life. :)
